ibiza is famous for its beautiful beaches, crystal clear water and nightlife. however, there is much more to this balearic island that is worth to discover during a visit to one of spain´s most popular tourist destinations. ibiza old town and dalt vila over 2,500 years of history, mysteries and great discoveries come together in this unesco world heritage site. exploring the narrow and winding streets and magnificent views from the terraces of each level (dalt vila originally means ‘high town’) visitors will have some of the most beautiful panoramic views of the island and on the battlements by the cathedral of our lady of the snows. spot the red tiled cupolas of the 16th century church of santo domingo and the statue of general joaquin vara de rey, the ibicenco hero of the cuban war, standing proudly at the centre of the main square which bears his name.

ibiza markets visiting ibiza’s famous hippy markets is one of the island top attractions and a must-do for every visitor. each has its own unique atmosphere, some focused on local handicrafts, others offer exotic jewellery, textiles and clothing from places such as south america, india and indonesia. one of the largest markets is the las dalias hippy market on saturday in san carlos. visit the market and enjoy live mime acts, moroccan tea tents and the unique atmosphere.

nature famous for its beautiful beaches and clear water, ibiza is also a great destination for everybody who loves to spend time in nature. cala salada, for instance, is a beautiful, rustic beach that seems to have been relatively unscathed. here, a small strip of sand is surrounded by wild nature with only very few sun beds, and clean turquoise water make it a popular choice for those looking to escape the noise and hustle of the island. one of ibiza’s most famous landmarks are the las salinas salt flats, located on the southern most tip of the island. these salt fields have been in use for over 2000 years. as the water evaporates during the hot summer months, a layer of pure salt is left on the bottom of the lakes.

nightlife playa d´en bossa on the east coast of the island is famous for its pulsating nightlife. those looking for a good party will have the choice between some of the world´s most renowned clubs, such as pacha, space or ushuaia. but also san antonio on the west coast of the island with its famous sunset strip and countless restaurants and bars is worth a visit for everybody who is looking for exciting night life.
